1.9 density foam is furniture foam that can support 1.9 pounds per cubic foot of weight. The mass of the foam inside a cubic foot defines the foam density of furniture. By dividing the foam mass by its unit volume, foam density is computed and is often expressed in pounds (lbs). The higher the density of foam the more close-packed and heavier it is. Foam firmness and foam density are two different things. High firmness foam flattens less when subjected to pressure.
